Bobainasmom, Selamat Hari Raya to you and family too! Thank you for your kind words. You made my day! When I cooked and posted the recipes here on salt n turmeric, i always try to keep them simple. Simple as in the ingredients used and also the method used. Not many ppl appreciate what I do since to them my recipes are not 'authentic' but easy for them to say when they live back home or have ppl sending them all the ingredients from home. Farina, I just wanted to thank you and wish you a blessed Hari Raya.We live in east coast of Canada.My husband is from Singapore.It's hard to get some ingredients here and hard for me to find authentic Malay recipes in English or in measurements I understand.I've come back to your website time and again..we love your simple sambal sauce (I make a huge batch just before raya) and your rendang and we've tried your recipe for lobster tail in curry butter...yummm!!I can't thank you enough for your help.Have you given thought to a recipe book?

Spring rolls looking good here. Love to eat, lazy to make! Good thing also la mama lazy to make otherwise the whole thing will just go into my tummy as the rest of the family is not into spring rolls. Lingham Chillie Sauce.. huhu.. nostalgic. Used to take Lingham Chillie Sauce when we were much younger as mom likes to buy this brand. But nowadays, I go for Thai Sweet Chillie... yummy!

PuraVida, I just finished reading your blog! I loved it! I think food would be 1 of the deciding factors for us, me especially. I know I just can't live where asian ingredients are not available. But hey, life is about using whatever is available in front of us right? If you can't make spring roll, make some fried bananas/plaintain! ;)

This site is amazing. The pictures are beautiful and make me very...very hungry. You can't get a lot of the things that I like down here in Costa Rica. Sometimes I want to go back to the states just to get some good Asian food. Gosh, what I would do for one of those spring rolls right about now.
